About UsAs a part of its continuing quest to establish the highest quality healthcare in India, Apollo Hospitals Group established the Apollo Hospitals Educational and Research Foundation (AHERF) in 2000. It is the First and Single largest site management organisation (SMO) in India coordinating and conducting ethical trials for national and international Pharma companies.

 

AHERF is an autonomous, independent entity committed to promote basic, applied and translational research in the various specialties of medicine.  Padma Vibhushan  Dr. Prathap C. Reddy, Founder Chairman of the Apollo Hospitals Group appreciated the importance of research at the time of founding of the group and had said that “Our mission is to bring healthcare of international standards within the reach of every individual. We are committed to the achievement and maintenance of excellence in education, research and healthcare for the benefit of humanity.”

Ethics Committee

To monitor all activities, in accordance with ICH-GCP guidelines, Apollo Hospitals has a well coordinated Ethics Committee. All the clinical trials and research projects are taken forward only with the approval of the Ethics Committee. For this purpose there are two forms of Ethics Committees -

1. Institutional Ethics Committee
2. Central Ethics Committee

  • Our Expert Panel: AHERF is privileged to have a unique Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC), comprising of some of the most eminent scholars of science and medicine in the country to evaluate, supervise and guide all research activities. The SAC meets annually to discuss the new ventures in research and to give expert advice to help us excel in the area of Education, Research and Trials.
